Do you understand the value of outdoor spaces in supporting independence, confidence and in developing life and social skills? Are you an aspirational and inclusive leader with experience of building great teams, developing strategic vision and generating income and funding?
We have an amazing opportunity for a CEO to join our existing team of permanent, sessional and volunteer colleagues to lead and develop our strategic vision. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge and experience of social and therapeutic horticulture and of working with people. You’ll need to have experience of managing people and projects, networking and generating income streams in a charity. You won’t be afraid to (literally) ‘get your hands dirty’.

Salary £28,646 – £31,500 p.a. pro rata
Hours 30-40 to be reviewed
Growing Works is a charity based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The main hub of our organisation is our Wakefield Road site with activities and projects taking place at other sites in Kirklees.
Bud – Social and therapeutic gardening sessions for adults helping people benefit from being active outdoors, learning to grow, being creative and socialising.
Sprout – Strong Parents Reaching Out – outdoor activities for families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Social and Mental Health Difficulties.
Young Shoots – We run sessions for young people aged 13-19 with Special Educational Needs and/or Social and Mental Health Difficulties. The sessions are themed around bushcraft, cooking, and exploration. The aim of the sessions is to build independence and confidence, developing life and social skills and to learn to work as a team.
